Sony Mylo 2: The Second Generation Mylo
The Sony Mylo 2 is way far a better Portable Digital Assistant compared to its first release, the Sony Mylo. The look is more mature and compelling and in this gadget are added several features that the first Mylo don’t have – a 1.3-mega-pixel camera, widget support, ability to download and upload directly; and integration with AIM and YouTube.
Design
The design is a little bit huge having a dimension and weight of 5.2 inches (w) x 2.6 inches (T) x 0.80 inch (D) x 6.80 ounces (W). With the dimension, it is not as easy to slide on your pocket quickly. However, this should not bother you so much as it is packed with a soft casing for your carrying convenience and prevents from scratching when hit on the wall of your bags.
One of the competitive assets of the Sony Mylo 2 is its powerful display as it gives you ultra sharp viewing of pictures, websites, and videos. The touch screen works well, however you will have the choice to use the stylus.

Functionality
The functionalities are no-brainer as it is intuitive where on the left side of the Portable Digital Assistant you can see three buttons namely – option, display, and back buttons. Also on the left part is the joystick button that helps you scroll and navigate menus and by simply pressing it you can easily select a particular function. Over at the right side are shortcut keys – info, Mylo, and home pages to allow navigation faster and quicker. But the best part as noticeably new, is the customizable page allowing you to add widget. What this widget can offer are quick ways to reach to other functionalities of the gadget.
Although you might find it hard at first, but getting used to it is no problem when using the QWERTY keyboard, which you can use by sliding the front screen. The keyboard might be small but having an ample space in between helps you get your typing fast as it used to be! The headset port, power connector and the mini USB port are found on top of the PDA while other controls such as wireless power button and unit switch are found on back left.
What’s in the Box?
The Sony Mylo 2 is packed with an AC adapter, a set of ear buds, a CD for synchronization with computers, USB Cable, and a manual.

Overall Impression
The phone is too much dependent on Wi-Fi technology and doesn’t have telephone and bluetooth technology functionality. Although Sony had partially satisfied what we kept looking for – the camera functionality that didn’t appear in Mylo 1 but appeared in Mylo 2, they need to improve other aspects such as the video recording feature and telephone functionality.
But nonetheless, the overall performance was good. It was connecting to the internet fast, the overall sound quality was good, and in general the features didn’t fail the enthusiasts.
