The Asus P750 Portable Digital Assistant is known to be one gadget that is “well connected” allowing you to connect through HSDPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Although the design is quite huge by some standards, the phone is packed with a wide array of wonderful features. All these are powered by the Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS combined with Marvell PXA270M processor at 520MHz speed.

Design

The touch screen functionality having a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels measures 2.6 inches from one corner to the other. And in general, most buttons are quite huge. The call button is found on the left side (color green) while the end button is over at the right (color red). Under the end button at the right with a symbol “C” stands for the cancel key.

Below the call buttons sits the Mode Switcher utility, in this function you are allowed to assign four settings or application each press will move you to the next one in the list. Immediately at the middle sitting between the keypad and screen are the four standard Windows Mobile shortcut keys – the start, select, and two soft menu buttons. Over at the center is the navigation key allowing you to navigate via the mini joystick up, down, left and right.

Features

Aside from the powerhouse connectivity that supports download speed of up to 3.6 mbps the device has a two built-in cameras – one in front for 3G calling and the other one at the back for taking some pictures. With the 3-mega-pixel camera, the results would honestly not disappoint you. Another business driven application is the Ur Time application that allows you to put up to 5 world clocks on the Windows Mobile Today screen. For the international traveler, the meeting time planner can allow you to put up to three world times side by side on screen. The GPS feature is awesome as it allows you to send positioning information to five recipients all at once, plus you can set it to manual or automatic sending of SMS.

Other applications bundled in this smartphone is the Remote Presenter for PowerPoint presentation control and viewing, RSS Reader for subscription of feeds online, and MySecrets to keep confidential files and documents such as passwords, bank account, among others.

Overall Impression

Overall performance was exemplary! It opened and launched application quickly and even five applications at a time without slowing of processing speed. The bundled software combination was very useful for versatile individuals. Coupled with good battery life at 5 hours talk time and 240 hours standby time while having the option to prolong through the several settings – Turbo, Standard, and Power saving at about $550.00 dollars, it is worth an investment!
