For those who text as much as they talk on the phone, or those who enjoy checking out information on the Internet while on the go, the Samsung Glyde (CNET Review) has you covered. The Samsung Glyde has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out of the bottom of the unit. The 2.8″ touchscreen makes using the phone easier as well.
As with most touchscreens, there’s no tactile feedback so sometimes you can find yourself hitting the wrong part of the screen. Once you get accustomed to it, though, it’s not so bad and you’ll find yourself flying through the menus.
On top of all the other great features, the Samsung Glyde (review) features a built in 2.0 megapixel camera. The flash is kind of weak, as with most cell phone cameras, but in the right lighting conditions, you’ll be taking great photos that will print out fairly large.
The Samsung Glyde also does video (MPEG4). Not what you’d get from a high-end digital video camera, but this is a Mobile Phone and with that in mind, the video’s not bad – not bad at all.
The phone comes with 57M of onboard memory for your messages and address book, but you can also add a microSD™ memory card. With memory as cheap as it is these days, you can make sure you have enough memory for all your numbers as well as a ton of photos, a few videos and maybe some music as well.
Some computers might not have a microSD™ memory card slot, but it’s easy and inexpensive to pick up an adapter that will allow the microSD to fit into a normal SD memory card slot.
This isn’t the latest, greatest phone out there, but for the price with the features it has, the Samsung Glyde is still a contender.
As always, if you have experience with this phone or have questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
