The AT&T Tilt (see CNET Review) is a cool little phone with a cool name. It features a full slideout QWERTY keyboard with a screen that tilts. This phone is a little older now, but if you're looking for a cheaper smartphone that still has a lot of power, or at least enough to do the basics, keep reading.

The tilting screen, where the phone got its name, tilts up to a 40 degree angle. The keyboard isn't shabby either, with larger buttons and a tactile feel - i.e. the buttons "Click" when you press them, giving you feedback that you've applied enough pressure. (Sometimes it's the small details like this that make a phone special.)

While the phone is slightly large (big boned?) it has a nice design with rounded corners and a slick look to it. The larger phone will let you see video better, though. And watching video with AT&T Video is a more pleasurable experience.  The phone also supports AT&T Music, which lets you purchase songs one at a time from various online music stores like Yahoo Music, Napster to Go and others.

As I said, this is a slightly older phone. That doesn't mean it's dead yet. If you're looking for a second smartphone or a mobile phone for a teenager in your family, the AT&T Tilt is a great option - especially if they enjoy email and texting. And what teenagers don't enjoy that a little too much? Smile.
