Nokia Mirage 2605
The Nokia Mirage 2605 for the Verizon Wireless network (see CNET Review or the official Verizon page) is a small phone and isn't the most durable mobile phone out there, but the price is right. If you're looking for a basic, no frills phone, the Nokia Mirage 2605 might be on your list. Once you start to compare it to some other mobile phones in the same price range, though, it may slip off your list into oblivion.
The design is rather poor, making the mobile phone easy to accidentally break. It's really small and doesn't weigh very much at all. When you add that to the call quality, you might wonder why this phone even made it off the drawing board. Even the screen (128x128 pixel resolution) is small when compared to other mobile phones - even ones in this price range.
The keypad is backlit, which is nice, but some more time might have been spent on making the keys a little better (sturdier?) when you press them. It's the little details that make or break a mobile phone sometimes. It's not that the Nokia Mirage 2605 does only one or two things poorly (or not at all.) It's really when you add everything up about the mobile phone that you begin to see that you may be better off going with something else.
The mobile phone does have a camera, but it doesn't have a flash and is only VGA, taking really low resolution photos. If you're not going to have a decent camera, just leave the camera off altogether. Would make sense. If they left the camera out and focused on some other items with the phone, it might not be so bad.
Overall, if this was the only mobile phone in this price range, you might go ahead and buy it. With so many other options out there, though, it's wise to shop around and get a little more value for your money.
