Just the Basics: Samsung SGH-T119
The Samsung SGH-T119 for the T-Mobile network (see CNET Review or the Phone Area preview) is a simple phone, but you could do a lot worse. If you're just wanting a simple phone to make the occasional call or do simple things (ahh, remember the days when phones were simple?), the Samsung SGH-T119 may be great for you.

The Samsung SGH-T119 is a simple phone, but sometimes that's all you need. Whether you buy this as a back-up phone or a phone for your elderly parents for emergencies or a phone for your child who is in college, they'll be able to call you and you'll be able to hear them. That said, they might not be happy that it doesn't take pictures or do some of the other wild and crazy things a lot of smart mobile phones do now, but if you're primarily worried about them making and receiving calls infrequently, this mobile phone is a great choice.
The candybar mobile phone is made out of plastic, which makes it light, but it also feels a little "cheap" because of this. If you're worried about the phone being easy to break, you may want to look elsewhere. It's not that it's a bad design, but for the price, a lot of features that help protect the higher priced phones aren't there. This won't be an issue for some people, though. Sometimes, it all comes down to who is going to be using the mobile phone and how they're going to be using it.
