Peek Pronto Hits the Scene
The Peek Pronto (see CNET Review or the official Peek page) is a fast, slick predecessor to the original Peek, which was more of a super email device moreso than a normal mobile phone. In fact, all it does is email (and now messaging), but what it does do it does really, really well. From the full and comfortable QWERTY keyboard to the slim, attractive design, there's a lot to love about the new Peek Pronto. The price raised a little bit, but the features are worth it if you do a lot of email and texting throughout the day.
The negative is that you do have to subscribe to a service (much like a mobile phone) so that you can send and receive emails. The good news is that the price isn't too high (especially if you pay on a quarterly plan.) If you use a lot of email throughout the day, the price is worth it. If you're only a casual email user, even $17 a month might be too steep - especially if you only send one or two emails a day.
The overall design, look and feel of the Peek Pronto is really good. It's simple and at the same time elegant and a little high-tech looking. You can be sure of one thing, if you whip the Peek Pronto out to dash off an email, your friends aren't going to laugh at you.
