The Blackberry Tour 9630 for the Verizon Wireless network (see CNET Review or official RIM page) may be the Blackberry Mobile Phone people have been waiting on for a while. Wherever you roam in the world, you know it’s going to have you connected. Also, it has the features on a Blackberry you’ve come to know (and love) … just enhanced a little. Like the 3.2 megapixel camera. Add in a nice display and a QWERTY that’s not flashy (but works!) and you start to get the big picture about the Blackberry Tour 9630.
Blackberry Tour 9630 Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 4.4″ x 2.4″ x .6″
- Weight: 4.58 ounces
- Screen: 480 x 360 TFT Active Matrix 16-bit (64K colors)
- Camera: 3.2 MP (with a flash!)
- Supported Audio Formats: MP3 , MIDI
As you can see, it’s not as large as some of the Mobile Phones out there, but good things sometimes come in small packages. While there are a lot of good things about this Mobile Phone, this latest Blackberry does have a few downsides. For one, there’s no WiFi support, which is a real bummer if you’re constantly around WiFi enabled airspace (more and more places these days.) Also, there are a few other problems, but there’s not too much negative to say about this cellphone.
The all around cool trackball is here instead of one of those fancy (and sometimes annoying) touch screens. It can really help you get around the menus quickly, which is sometimes a better thing than being ‘flashy’ and ‘cool’ if you know what I mean.
As with all other Blackberry phones, if you’re into email and messaging, you’re most likely going to love this phone. You’ll pay for that love, but sometimes it’s worth it. Is the Blackberry Tour 9630 worth it? We’d like to hear from you (really!)
