The Samsung Mantra (see CNET Review or the official Samsung page) is a thin flip phone that handles all the basics (including a digital camera, which is pretty much necessary on a Mobile Phone.) The phone is for the Virgin Mobile network and is rather basic. The digital camera does have a 4x digital zoom, which is sometimes unusual on a Mobile Phone like this. That said, it’s a nice little extra touch, even if the photos it takes aren’t the absolute greatest. (To get the best pics on a Mobile Phone, you’re going to have to shell out the bucks, that’s for sure.)
This phone is great if you want to save a little money and just get the basics. In today’s economic world, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, if you know what I mean. Saving money on a phone can lead to more money for other things in your life.
Samsung Mantra Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 3.8″ x 1.87″ x 0.69″
- Weight: 3.35 oz
- Screen: 1.25″ x 1.57″ TFT at 128 x 160 pixel resolution
- Digital Camera: VGA quality
As you can see, there’s not a lot of “ooh” and “ahh” features about this Mobile Phone, but if you’re on the Virgin network and want something basic that can handle calls and looks somewhat stylish, this may be the cellphone for you. There are plenty of other phones out there, but at the price, you’re actually getting quite a bit for your money with this phone.
