Sleek and user-friendly, there’s little doubt that T-Mobile’s MyTouch 3G is a significant improvement over their somewhat uneven previous Mobile Phone, the G1. The design has been streamlined to be eye catching and undeniably attractive while still being sturdy and comfortable to use. Of course, this new sleek design is made possible by the lack of a physical keyboard, a fact that many users might be turned off by.

Then again, this Mobile Phone’s expansive screen and impressive color resolution make it easy to see the various virtual keyboard options, though the Google keyboard in particular can be a bit cramped. Regardless, the sparse and easy to use buttons on the Mobile Phone itself are a refreshing change from the crowded designs I’m used to seeing.

Various features of this mobile phone include standards like organization tools and a voice recorder, but also highlight gems like a Google Maps feature and USB mass storage. Unfortunately, there is no file manager on the MyTouch to easily move files from your data card to the phone itself or visa versa.

Still, the messaging features might make up for this oversight. With the MyTouch, you can easily synch up to standards like gmail and yahoo, as well as your personal work email accounts with a little more effort. Instant messaging from all the major providers is supported and can even be open while you are accessing other apps on the phone.

There are a few features that still falter a bit. For example, the music player works, but is simply unimpressive in a price range where you might expect a bit more. The camera is hard to focus and keep steady, but photo quality is passable and the YouTube app for video is a neat bonus.
